LEXIA LEARNERS

Picture
Lexia Learners grew from just Coach Jess tutoring out of her home in Las Vegas, Nevada to opening an office in Tustin, California. In March 2020, the office closed due to COVID and now we have moved our services exclusively online.  Now, we are available virtually, anywhere.

Since its inception, we have helped hundreds of children who suffered from brain based learning difficulties, that led to them falling behind their peers in reading, writing, spelling and/or math. Lexia Learners believes in bettering the whole child while working with the individual and the family from the comfort of their own home via the internet.

Lexia Learners is dedicated to assisting clients virtually in achieving success, self confidence and happier well being by providing emotional and academic support through private Orton-Gillingham based Language Arts and multisensory math tutoring and classes for students from 1st grade to adulthood who learn differently due to Dyslexia, Dyscalculia and similar Language Based Learning Differences.  We also have a parent coaching program to give parents the confidence they need to support their children.

Coach Jess is the owner, founder and program director of Lexia Learners. As the mother of four adult children who all had various learning differences, she became passionate about making the journey easier for others.

When her daughter was only two years old, she knew there was something different about her, but it wasn't until the family moved to Texas, ten years later, that she was diagnosed with profound Dyslexia.  A few years later her youngest son was diagnosed as well.  Over the years they discovered he won the lottery of neurodiversities with Sensory Processing Disorder , severe Dyslexia, profound Dyscalculia, mild Dysgraphia, Vision Processing Disorder Auditory Processing Delay, plus he is on the spectrum.   Her third child has profound Dysgraphia, mild Dyslexia, Dyspraxia and Dyscalculia . Her oldest son is on the Autism spectrum.

In 2000, the family left Texas and Coach Jess began homeschooling her youngest two children. She quickly discovered they needed to be taught using multisensory and Orton-Gillingham techniques. Soon after, Coach Jess realized that the “Learning Disability” she personally had been labeled with as a child was indeed moderate Dyslexia and shortly after that, she diagnosed her husband as profoundly Dyslexic.

Later the same year, Coach Jess began working with a few other Dyslexic children. In 2016, she became a Certified Barton Reading and Spelling tutor and  has continued her training through the Universities of London and University of San Diego. Coach Jess gave up her career as a Realtor and now dedicates her time to helping students of all ages with Dyslexia and similar learning differences. She is a huge proponent for homeschooling kids with Dyslexia and coaches parents needing support in their homeschool journey. Coach Jess has dedicated her life to helping people develop to their full potential.
